Under the Boss on Candy Shorts: a first day at a London office
Under the Boss is an office story built on a first day. The new temp, Harriet, is shy, nervous about whether she belongs among her polished colleagues, and convinced the boss will not notice her. He notices. His PA, who runs his calendar down to the quarter hour and has a Thursday dinner reservation in mind for the two of them, spots the shift at once. Her jealousy is the story's engine: according to the official synopsis, she will do anything to destroy the forbidden fling.
Episodes 1 and 2: a tour that takes a while
Episode 1 raises the temperature in small moves. The PA fusses over his schedule and angles for that dinner, then Harriet arrives, opens with a compliment and tries to walk it back. The boss says, "I preferred your first answer," waves off the onboarding schedule and gives the tour himself. Episode 2 plays out around a closed door: colleagues gossip about how long the induction is taking, the PA stews, and a fitting for company merchandise leaves the first day well off script.

What stands out in the free pair is how differently the three leads talk. The PA is brisk, shifting his four-thirty to a quarter past four. Harriet rambles when she is nervous, so a sentence can change direction halfway. The boss is dry and unhurried, and answers a stammer with a joke. Intense, in an office setting
